Research has highlighted the fact that hypnosis was already practiced during the time of the Pharaohs and of Ancient Greece; it could be that men had already discovered the incredible potential of the unconscious long before that! Its use has sometimes been associated with spiritual practices, sometimes with medicine, and sometimes with psychology and psychiatry.
Many myths have been created around hypnosis: some kind of mystery emanates from it, or even some sort of danger, even today. However, it is important to know that hypnosis is quite simply an amplified state of consciousness, which each of us practises automatically, and many times, all day long! Indeed, it is one of the ways our brain uses to recharge itself; without it, it would be impossible for us to remain attentive and active for 12 to 16 hours over a full day.
The altered state of consciousness also means that the conscious mind is still on watch, so it is simply impossible for the hypno-therapist to force the patient to do or say anything against his or her will.
The power of hypno-therapy lies in the fact that it directly addresses the unconscious mind: it gives access to a huge reservoir of potential resources which are most often untapped, either because they are ignored or because of one or more blockages.
This is how one can truly treat and heal multiple wounds, blockages, illnesses and sufferings:
- Stress, anxiety, burn-out
- Lack of self-confidence and of self-esteem
- Exceeding personal limits
- Repetitive patterns
- Improved sports performance
- Preparation for a job interview, for an exam
- Phobias
- Allergies
- Addictions (tobacco, alcohol, drugs, sugar, shopping, …)
- Acute and chronic pain
- Female sterility
- Weight loss
- Migraines
- Insomnia
- Psoriasis, eczema, ichthyosis
- Tinnitus
- Stuttering
- White Page Syndrome for artists, writers, etc.
- Enuresis (bed-wetting)
- Onychophagy (nail biting)
- …
The list is not exhaustive. However, it is important to know that the success of the therapy most often requires the patient to accomplish one or sometimes several tasks prescribed by the therapist: it is indeed the combination of the two, carried by the patient’s commitment, that will allow a real healing, a liberation, a true well-being.
Procedure: depending on the need, the number of sessions required is between 1 and 4. The first session lasts 2 hours, the following sessions last between 1 hour and 1 hour and a half.
